Most Venerable Gomarankadawala Hemarathana Thero was born on 4th September 1985 in Gomarankadawala Hospital, District Trikunamalaya, Sri Lanka. Gomarankadawala Hemarathana Thero his Childhood name is Sujeet Kumara, Father is Late Wikaramasingha and Mother is Smt. Somawati. He have three elder brother and one eleder sister. Sujeet Kumara took his oradination on 4th August 1998 afetr that he bacame Hemrathana.He completed his High education from Sri Siddharthodaya Privena, Horowipotana on 2005. He was became high ordination (Upasampada) on 5th june 2005 from Most venerable Kapugollewa Sharankara Nayaka Thero in Mahanuwara Malwatu Mhaviharaya, Kandy. After his high ordination (Upasampada) he was teaching in Sunday School in Sri Lanka. On 4th April 2005 he joint in Maha Bodhi Society of India as a Dhammadut. Gomarankadawala Hemarathana Thero residence right now in Maha Bodhi society of India, Buddhagaya Centre. He everyday give Dhamma Sermon to the devotees who are come from Sri lanka as a Pilgrimage at Maha Bodhi Maha Vihara, under the Bodhi tree where the lord Buddha Attain Enlightenment. Maha Bodhi Maha Vihara is a very popular Buddhist Temple in all over the world. Gomarankadawala Hemarathana Thero every day give Dhamma Sermon from morning to till evening at Under Bodhi tree in Sinhala Language.
